Belfast City Council extends reach of planning application checklist

09/07/2021

Belfast City Council (BCC) is making changes to its planning application checklist from 1 September 2021.

The Application Checklist ensures the Council’s Planning Service has the information it needs to properly assess applications and allow them to be dealt with efficiently.

Currently, major and larger scale local applications must be submitted in accordance with BCC’s Application Checklist. This is widening to include all applications for local development with the exception of some householder applications and advertisement consent applications.

Other changes include major developments having an Employability and Skills profile, and mandatory structural surveys for demolition applications where the building is listed or provides character.

All of the documents associated with the checklist can be viewed here.

If you have any comments on the Application Checklist or Belfast City Council’s planning service generally, please provide your feedback to planning@belfastcity.gov.uk
