BBC Northern Ireland’s House of the Year is back
07/02/2024
BBC Northern Ireland is on the hunt for houses in Northern Ireland to appear in an upcoming series of House of the Year. The show last aired in 2012 so if you have an interesting domestic project completed over the last decade or so, you might want to put it forward for consideration.
In the previous series, it was typically large, high-end houses that featured on the programme. This time BBC hopes to feature a wider selection of houses from the grandest to the most modest, but all connected by something impressive in the design, the character and the personality of the project. Ideally there will be some element of it being a ‘dream home’ because the owners have put their heart and soul into it.
To be eligible the property must be the owner’s primary residence.
A total of 15 properties will be chosen. The BBC intends to film at these houses in March 2024. Part of the filming will involve a short interview with the homeowner, so you will need to be sure that someone is willing to speak on camera with the presenter.
If you would like more information, you can directly contact Leana Arrell, Assistant Producer at leana.arrell.ext@bbc.co.uk or on 0303 080 9449. Alternatively, there is a web-form where homeowners can self-submit. You can direct clients here.
The deadline for proposing your project is 19 February 2024.
