Architects focus on climate action

10/12/2019

The RSUA Climate Emergency Committee exists to help radically reduce our built environment’s contribution to climate change and to help prepare for the impacts of climate change on Northern Ireland, and was established in September 2019. It’s currently chaired by Dominic Morris. Currently Northern Ireland lags behind the rest of the UK in developing a climate emergency strategy.

The committee is developing its forward programme of work and is already engaging with government departments and statutory agencies, and taking input from both Queen’s University Belfast and Ulster University. The committee is also currently considering a draft paper which focuses on making climate change less severe and preparations for its impacts.

The next meeting is on 19 March 2020
