A warm welcome into the community for new architects
06/12/2019
RSUA invited students from ARCex and Architecture at Queen’s who had recently completed their Part 3 exams to a celebration at Riddel’s Warehouse in Belfast City Centre. This informal event – scheduled to coincide with the announcement of results – represents an opportunity for RSUA to welcome those who had become fully qualified architects into the wider community of architects and give encouragement to those yet to complete this final step.
The evening started with a drinks reception and a brief presentation from Geoff Sloan from Hearth Historic Buildings Trust on the future plans for restoring this Grade B+ listed, High Victorian warehouse which dates from circa 1865.
RSUA President Joan McCoy also attended and said: “Architects are custodians of our built environment and the class of 2019 has the potential – and the ability – to change Northern Ireland for the better. Through good design we can re-imagine our towns and cities and your work will shape the future.”
