Lecture: Get It Right - Construction errors cost billions

07 December 2017

Key international studies suggest that the direct costs of avoidable errors are in the order of 5% of the project value.  This equates to approximately £5bn per annum across theUK– 5 times the profit margin.

The Get it Right Initiative is a new attempt at tackling these avoidable errors.  Its single aim is to significantly reduce construction error and its consequences.

During the event delegates will be encouraged to:

-          Think differently about errors with a renewed interest in their costs
-          Become familiar with different techniques for understanding errors
-          Form a shared opinion about the best plan of action for the individual and the business
-          Be able to convince others to act and support the plan and for everybody to work together
-          Stop think and plan

This event has been commissioned by the NI Construction Group and the Central Procurement Directorate and will be facilitated by Tom Barton, Executive Director of the Get it Right Initiative.
